These associations provide information for families who may be considering independent (private) options for their childÕs education. For any education option, families must consider the right fit first and foremost in their decision. These resources can get you started:

This may get you started but please consider supplementing your preparation with additional, consistent study.

I have found old-fashioned studying or working with a local tutor to be most helpful for these tests. Please send me an email if you know of other good online resources!

Testing

Pursuit of private schools will generally require assessments as part of the admissions process. Check each school for their preference, which can vary depending on the applicantÕs grade level. These are the two more common ones.

• Independent School Entrance Examination
• Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT)

Although the acronym sounds similar . . . it is a different test than the College Board’s SAT!
